Kelly Macleod
Associate Director of Science – BoardDr Kelly Macleod joined HiDef in May 2021 and is a marine mammal scientist with more than 20 years’ experience. Kelly provides scientific oversight to all our projects and has direct responsibility for the delivery of technical reports, ensuring analytical approaches are appropriate and quality standards and deadlines are met.
Kelly’s previous roles, at JNCC and the Sea Mammal Research Unit, have developed a sound knowledge of monitoring methods and analytical techniques to assess the status of marine mammal populations and the pressures affecting them. She has a particular interest in protected species bycatch. She has also contributed to the identification, designation, and management of cetacean Marine Protected Areas. Kelly has authored numerous scientific papers and regularly undertakes peer-review for journal manuscripts.
